As well as performing on stage and in concerts, Elaine has experience of recording vocals in different styles and settings. This has led to her performing studio recordings of new works and live recordings of established pieces.

New works

Elaine was approached by composer Claire Harding to record a new and original folk song for the 2012 Lincolnshire Folk Song Competition. The song, called 'Down by the Brayford Side', is an a-cappella folk song. Elaine recorded it in the studio and then went on to perform it on Radio Lincolnshire at the finals of the competition. The piece came third overall - a superb result for an unaccompanied song. After the competition, Elaine returned to the studio to record a revised and updated version.

Here is the original studio recording of 'Down by the Brayford Side'.

"Elaine has a heck of a fine voice and she did your song real justice...Lovely to have an "a-cappella" song make it through to the final (let alone the top 3): I cannot remember the last time." (Comment from one of the competition judges)

"These are the best guide vocals I have ever had, my compliments to Elaine." (Lyricist John Collings)

Lions Charter Dinner - April 2010

Elaine has also recorded guide vocal tracks for two new productions by composer Bromley Davis and lyricist John Collings - one pantomime and one musical called 'Sweetheart Memories.'

"When I compose music for songs I need a singer who can learn new songs of varying styles, sing accurately and communicate the feeling behind the lyrics.  Elaine more than amply fulfils these requirements.  She approaches the recordings professionally and nothing is too much trouble for her to get the right result.  She is my first call when I need a singer." (Bromley Davis)

Other recordings

Elaine appears with the Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company on their live CD recording of 'Utopia' (2011). It is available to buy here from the website 'Musical Collectables.'

Elaine also recorded her own demo album at the 'Tabby Road Studios' in 2013.

Elaine was invited to sing and record at the opening of the new recording studio at Simmonds Music Shop in Grantham in 2013.
