Elaine is an experienced and respected singing teacher specializing in musical theatre, classical music and vocal technique.
Ex-students have gone on to further training at some of the most prestigious musical theatre, music and acting colleges including GSA, Trinity Laban College of Music, Bird, Laine, LAMDA, East 15 and Italia Conti.
As well as running her own business, Elaine is also on the panel of vocal tutors for the Lincolnshire Music Service – working in local grammar schools – and has full enhanced DRB clearance to work with children and young people. She is a full member of the ISM (Incorporated Society of Musicians) and her teaching follows their guidelines. From September 2018, Elaine will also be joining the peripatetic music staff at St Hugh’s Preparatory School in Woodhall Spa as a singing teacher.
Preparation for singing, musical theatre and theory exams with a number of examination boards (ABRSM, Trinity and LCM) is available depending on the needs of the student. Elaine maintains an excellent pass rate in these exams (approx 99% at present) with most students achieving a merit or distinction. Elaine is also experienced in training students for specific performances or auditions and advising in caring for the voice.
All students are welcome regardless of ability or age – Elaine is a fully qualified teacher and has experience of teaching children, teenagers and adults with a wide range of abilities from beginner to diploma (Grade 8+) standard. Elaine is also heavily involved in promoting youth participation in the local musical community and is a co-founder and life member of the Grantham Youth Theatre Society. This, together with her work in various schools in the area, means that she is skilled in teaching young people from primary age through to A-level and college age.
“I can’t thank Elaine enough for teaching me over the years. You couldn’t find a better or lovelier singing teacher in the Grantham / Lincolnshire area who has as much knowledge and technique as Elaine. I always felt so comfortable in every single lesson, which is when you sing at your best – Elaine knows what she is doing! She is also a massive, massive help when it comes to preparing for drama school auditions, for help with repertoire and acting through song. I couldn’t have asked for more!” (Kate Landy – currently studying BA Hons Musical Theatre at GSA)
“I have been having lessons with Elaine throughout secondary school and it’s been a joy! She has inspired me and got me through to my Grade 8 with distinction along with a place at Trinity Laban. I couldn’t have done it without her, she’s a wonderful teacher!” (Ella Brookes – due to start studying BMus Hons at Trinity Laban in September 2018)
